About la mora
la mora is the Japanese studio branch of Taller Mono Rojo (Mono Rojo Ceramic Studio) based in Mexico City.
The name "la mora" means "mulberry" in Spanish, named after Ōkuwa Village, which once prospered through sericulture (silk farming).
Currently, Okuno, along with his friends (Amigos), operates three art studios based on ceramics in Mexico City, Barcelona, and Ōkuwa Village, Kiso District, Nagano Prefecture. (Hiroshi Okuno)
